COSCO Suspends Service to Ramp Destinations & MSC Ariane Incident on Pearl Service

COSCO Shipping Lines have advised all IPI/RIPI destination services through the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will be suspended until further notice. Any ongoing bookings that are routed to rail ramp may possibly be cancelled by COSCO starting Monday, April 12th.

Destinations:

  • Cincinnati, OH/Cleveland, OH/Columbus, OH
  • Detroit, MI
  • Louisville, KY
  • Houston, TX/Laredo, TX/San Antonio, TX
  • Atlanta, GA
  • Nashville, TN
  • New Orleans, LA

The reason for the suspension is the equipment reposition issues through these inland destinations.

MSC ARIANE INCIDENT ON PEARL SERVICE

The container ship MSC ARIANE, deployed on Mediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) Pearl Service, had to stop at sea due to an engine issue on April 2nd while en route from Xiamen, China to Los Angeles, USA. The vessel has been diverted to Wakayama, Japan for repairs.

MSC ARIANE was expected to berth in Los Angeles on April 24th. Due to the congestion in the Los Angeles area, we are now expecting a schedule adjustment to this original berthing plan.

We will communicate further as soon as we have updated information about the estimated arrival and berthing in Los Angeles.

Please contact us if you have any further question or to discuss alternative carrier routes if available.
