Section 301 Product Exclusions
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has announced the first list of product exclusions from the additional tariffs under Section 301. On July 6, 2018, the USTR imposed additional duties on goods with an annual trade value of approximately $34 billion. The product exclusions will be retroactive to July 6, 2018, and will remain in effect for one year from the exclusion determination in the Federal Register.
The USTR will continue to release decisions on pending requests on a periodic basis. The following exclusions are in two different formats: 1) 10-digit HTSUS subheading, 2) 24 specifically prepared product descriptions:
• HTSUS subheadings 8412.21.0075, 8418.69.0120, 8480.71.8045, 8482.10.5044, 8482.10.5048, 8482.10.5052, 8525.60.1010.
• 24 additional product descriptions, including spark-ignition engines for marine propulsion, roller machines with dies for embossing paper, elevators, belt conveyors, guards of stainless steel, suction boxes of stainless steel, thermostats designed for air conditioning or heating systems, and more.
