Robert was born in New York and moved to Los Angeles at an early age. He graduated from San Francisco State University in 1977 with a degree in Biology and briefly attended medical school before joining Norman Krieger in 1979. Robert obtained his Customs Brokers License in 1982. He has held various positions at Norman Krieger, eventually being named President in 1995. Robert has also taught various courses about Logistics. He taught the GLS class on Customs Brokerage at Cal State Long Beach, a class on International Transportation and Logistics at UCLA, and regular classes on “How to Start an Import/Export Business.” Robert’s experience and knowledge has been in demand overseas as well, having presented to various groups in Hong Kong, Guanzhou, Melbourne, Sidney, Brisbane, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and Nuouvo Hamburgo.
In the United States he has given presentations to many trade groups including the Footwear Distributors and Retailers Association (FDRA), the US Association of Importers of Apparel and Textiles (currently known as the USFIA), the California Fashion Association (CFA), and the Fashion Business Institute (FBI) to name a few. Robert has participated in two US Trade Missions. He has also served as a Director of the Foreign Trade Association of Southern California (FTA).
Robert is the proud father of six children. His greatest passion, outside of his family, is helping companies who import goods to achieve their goals of on-time delivery of their products and pay the lowest duties possible while being fully compliant with all rules and regulations.
