West Coast Ports Labor Disruptions Expected to Close Terminals

Reporting indicates some, if not all, terminals are expecting to be closed tomorrow at the Port of Long Beach. Reporting suggests that the ongoing labor disruptions may impact several West Coast ports, not just the Port of Long Beach, resulting in terminal closures all along the West Coast.

As noted in our KRIEGER Worldwide news alert on Friday, the Port of Oakland reported a work stoppage staged by the rank and file members of the Southern California ILWU. These continued disruptions are a result of ongoing labor negotiations between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and the Pacific Maritime Association.

KRIEGER Worldwide will continue to monitor the ongoing situation along the West Coast ports and update our clients of any breaking or pertinent news. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to your KRIEGER Worldwide representative today!
